Bwa ha ha. Seriously? Vanessa fucks Mina's fiancee on the taxidermy table while looking into Mina's horrified eyes. Mina licks Vanessa's neck. There's all of that weird shit with Mina's dad. Lesbian vampires are such a horror cliche.

I agree that it was a little disappointing that Penny Dreadful didn't decide to go for canon f/f, so if people want to claim it as great representation, that's irritating, but nobody's ~misinterpreting~ the lesyay there. Nothing about that show suggests that there's any attempt to portray romantic friendship or homosocial bonds. Everything about that show suggests that it's trying to show bisexual orgies and a smorgasbord of kink.
