I always thought it was a cult favorite. Maybe I just assumed that because I liked it though.

I thought so too. It's been my second favorite movie since I was 6. And any time it gets brought up it's definitely seemed like a lot of us at least enjoyed it as kids.

It is a cult favorite, it's just very hard to get hold of a copy of it in the U.S. (or that's my understanding, when I went looking to get a copy of it 2-3 years ago).

AYRT: Wouldn't have expected it to be that hard to find tbh. For a short while, I guess right after it first came to DVD, Papa Johns was selling the DVD for an extra $5 or so with one of their pizzas. That was how I got my copy.
