Gaza, though I do not approve of all of the actions of Hamas. But ultimately I will side with an occupied people rather than with their occupiers, and ultimately I think Israel's wrong actions massively, massively outweigh the Palestinians' wrong actions.

I would not use the term "root for". I support Palestinians. Israel can say they are trying to get rid of Hamas but at this point it looks like they are burning down the house to get rid of the mice.

I honestly think that Israel won't be happy until they completely wipeout all the Palestinians living there. Which is terrible considering you'd think they'd have a better perspective on how terrible genocide is.

They're not sports teams. That's a little ridiculous. I don't see this thread going super well.

Personally I don't particularly side with one group or the other. Both have legitimate claims and grievances, both have done wrong and bad things. I probably wish the US didn't give quite as much aid to Israel as we do, but other than that, I try to stay out of it.

I don't "root for" anyone. It's a fucked up situation all in all, and because of historical reasons these two groups are stuck with each other and will continue to be so. I just hope that they can find some sort of way to achieve peace in the foreseeable future.

Neither side is guilt free but I suppose I "root for" the blameless citizens who have been caught in the middle of this tragic conflict.

Agreeing with everyone else that "root for" is a poor and distateful wording.
To answer the question though, I'm in support of Gaza (but not with Hamas' actions) because of the brutal and unnecessary deaths of Palestinian civilians. I feel that Israel should be facing charges of war crimes at this point.

The one I don't root for is Hamas. The Israelis don't want to be bombed. The Palestinians don't want to die. And the Hamas is conducting war from high class resorts in Qatar. Screw them with a rusty fork. If they had money and materials to dig illegal tunnels for soldiers to attack Israel (as well as going for Egypt) as well as places to store their weapons you better believe they could have built shelters for the Palestinians. They don't care for the Palestinian. Another dead Palestinian is another PR moment to shove that poor dead soul in the camera and cry victim.

It's very telling that Israel is surrounded by Muslim dominate countries but no one is coming to Palestine's aide despite how anti-Semitic that region is. Why? Because everyone hates the Hamas more. Not the Palestinians. The Hamas. And they will not raise one finger to help the Hamas take over, especially Egypt because they know if Israel is gone, they're next. They just threw the
The Muslim Brotherhood out which was a different branch of the Hamas. They don't want them back.

I root for Fatah and Labor. Likud doesn't seem like they can be trusted to respect Palestinian rights, and Hamas, while not as far gone as "Islamic State," is still rooted in Sunni/Salafi sectarian supremacy.

Please don't make this about countries. There are political parties involved; learn their names.
