(Anonymous) 2014-07-31 05:41 am (UTC)(link)Second, it's admittedly been quite some time since I read the book, but I don't recall anything complicating things in a racial direction specifically.
So I don't know how much any of that goes to ameliorate this problem specifically. Of course, I don't think it's all that big of a problem; it's a shitty, poorly-chosen shot with bad implications, but nothing's perfect.
