Somehow I kinda doubt your BNF's reading of the situation. Most misogynists really don't think the BDSMtastic sexual enslavement of all women is a feasible thing.

Are they one of those you're-weird-about-your-kink-therefore-you-are-literally-fandom-hitler sorts of people? Because you're right, flailing all over AO3 over fanfic really would be giving them more attention than they deserve.

I didn't exactly dig deeply, but I know they began as an enthusiastic fan of the setting and the fics, and I know their falling out had to do with their interactions with the writers.

+1, that premise sounds so silly to me and it seems way more likely that the BNF is a typical tumblrite pulling what you said than that all these fans actually have some kind of plan to enslave all women in real life.

I'm sure that they weren't planning to enact it as an actual real-world plan, but it's not implausible that they would have thought it would be a good thing if it happened
