If you're talking McShep there are some sublime writers amongst the not-so's....

A huge number of amazing writers, but the majority of them have moved on.

And a surprisingly high number of newcomers are complete idiots, there's no disputing that... as huge SGA fan for the past 10 years, this invasion of the stupid has managed something that even the show's PTB and its early cancellation did not achieve: stop me from checking out the new fic compulsively the way I used to for so long.

So much of it is trash that I can't take it anymore and I moved on last year. I still love McShep to death, more than any other OTP before or since, but I just can't force myself to give new writers a try having been burnt far too often. So I limit myself to authors whose name I recognize from so many years reading SGA and that makes for very small pickings indeed.
