I don't need to know how a message board works, or what formulas make up the material in my clothes for them to work, I don't need to understand gravity to not be floating around aimlessly, I don't need to know how to build an engine to drive a car and I don't need to know how an MRI machine works for it to scan my body.

More people should probably be aware of how the world minor and major things works, but honestly, you don't need to know all of it to live a long, happy and fulfilled life.

And that is coming from someone who finds science endlessly fascinating, but also understand that not knowing how something work and using it is entirely possible, heck you can even understand the work and dedication it took to make the thing without understanding how it was made. So nope not everyone needs an understanding of science, or advanced mathematics and so on, we need all kinds of people and knowledge to run the world, and the world would stop a lot sooner without waitresses than without physicists tho both are equally important in the longer run
