It is. I don't understand people going on about VAs when they're talking about a series they're interested in. The character was created before any V.A. could voice him, so it makes no sense to me. >>;

I do think VAs are somewhat important. I mean, I don't think they're the be all and end all of a character's personality, but voicing does play a part in characterization--like how shy people tend to speak more softly and things like that. How they stress things during an emotional scene also gives the viewers strong impressions; if they sound flat when they're talking about something that deeply affected them, listeners are going to think that either they're suppressing their emotions or they're a shallow character.

Video games and anime are both visual and audio. The audio may not be king, but it does have an important role, so it's good to have a VA who can play the role convincingly. (...not getting into the JPN vs. US voice actors thing though, 'cause honestly I like both.)

Actually, I agree entirely. The VA is very important. Hence why I tend to like whatever fits best. But what I don't do is seek out a series simply because a voice actor is in it and then rant about the character ONLY in relation to the voice actor, which is what I'm really referring to. That just leads me to believe that he doesn't even like the character, just the fact that a certain person voices them. :/ And that's ridiculous.
