Sorry, coming in with my two cents a bit here. After reading the newcomer anon's comment concerning Goku up there, I think I'm seeing his/her point. In that, even as a good writer, while you can make Goku cry his heart out in a friend's shoulder (somebody could wish it to the Dragon Balls, for example? Just for fun?) and make it believable, no matter how WTF-like... it doesn't mean you should. It could alienate the other players?

Shouldn't =/= couldn't.

And I think excruciating liberties with a character are maybe best performed in a fanfic, rather than RP environment. I mean... in a fic, they get to see where you're coming from, and what you're doing - linear development, or at least some evidence of previous input.

In eljay RP? A lot of char development happens in eljay posts, usually someone else's - people don't keep track, no one will stop to look'em over, etc.

I agree on the fic > RP statement. In the end, I guess it really depends on the people you're playing with. That must be why drama is always existent in larger RPs... or more explosive.

I think everyone, anons included, have been pretty civilized so far. Is this wank material by now, or not?

Might be OT for the com. If I weren't a lazy SOB, I'd post up a discussion thread in my personal eljay and have an anon party.
