It's "Omoide No Marnie", a Studio Ghibli film that was just released. I haven't had a chance to see it yet (and I'm sorta surprised that the OP is upset about this; I have yet to see much of a fandom), but the book that it's based on is quite lovely!

I follow some Ghibli Tumblrs and I've actually seen at least two try to address people who watched the trailer and then complained that Ghibli was cowardly for "baiting" people/not making the relationship canon, so it seems like it's just in the general tags.

I ordered the book (and saw the spoiler thread here because I hadn't scrolled fast enough) because the movie made me interested, regardless of the content. I just wish my visit to Japan had overlapped with the movie release. It's going to be a long wait for my country :c
