I'll give you this: CB was way less offensive than the stinkpile that is BS. But neither were good shows. And I say that as someone who has longed for a show featuring great wooden sailers for a while now. They were both disappointing and BS's renewal is a sad joke (it got renewed after a couple of eps too!) To be honest though, expecting quality telly from stars is asking for disappointment.

Yeah, Black Sails is just fucking terrible. There's no amount of pirate lesbians that could save that show.

All I know about Crossbones is the section on the Wil Wheaton Project which had JM's incredibly apathetic promotional appearances for the show. Which admittedly was probably a big indication of what was going to happen to it. Funny, though. Sorry your show got cancelled, OP.

Never watched Black Sails but the ep of Crossbones I watched was so godawful I'm not surprised it got canceled. Sorry, OP.

As much as I love Richard Coyle, I'm actually okay with Crossbones being canceled (which I didn't even know about until I read this secret.) I just couldn't get into the show. And part of that was because I feel like I'd seen a lot of it already on Black Sails. Like NBC wanted to do their own watered-down version of Black Sails or something.

This. John Malkovich... I love the guy, but really? And I was amused that Julian Sands was playing his arch enemy, seeing as how the two are BFF IRL.
