Well, you raise your right hand to the level of your fedora's brim, grasp it firmly but harshly with your forefinger and middle finger on top of the brim and thumb underneath, then raise your hand and with the muscles at the base of the thumb gently tilt the fedora forward until the inner rim at the rear of the crown has cleared your head*. Then gently replace it onto your head as before, and return your arm to your side**.

* At this point words such as "howdy", "ma'am", "sir", or "Belloq" may spoken if wished.

**An alternate method involves grasping the crown of the fedora, for instructions on this please consult the "advanced" section of the manual.

Hahaha.

This is all useless to me because I don't own a fedora.

But I had a question: Aren't you supposed to say "m'lady" though?

That's for cavalier hats, they are pre-fedora era. That is dangerously advanced hat etiquette because you've got to position the feather on the non-gay side.

Fascinating!

I just wear an old ballcap when I mow the lawn and a stocking cap in winter. Nobody around to tip for the first, and can't tip with the second.
