It doesn't make any sense. Transfer student have to make more effort so they're actually cooler. In my expierence poor people often hate on those who are not tho. Not always openly but it's there.

I've met plenty of deplorable jerks who were poor (the people I worked with at a gas station were some of the worst, racist southern stereotypes) and then absolute bastards like the rich guy I mentioned, so there are plenty of jerks in either camp.
