How is this? I've been meaning to read it for a while (I think it's still in my living room somewhere), but I haven't picked it up yet. I think I'm afraid I'm going to compare it to the only other thing of hers I've read and be disappointed.

Fascinating so far, as the dystopian future unravels, but doesn't compare to The Handmaid's Tale.

Yeah, I suspected that. I'll probably have to be careful to try not to compare the two in my head. I should give Oryx and Crake a try, though. Thanks for reminding me of it!

I completely disagree.

I think they don't compare in the way that they are about different things. But as far as quality, Atwood is gold in both.

And I love that Oryx and Crake is part one of a three part series that just gets better from the first one IMHO.
