It seems like they're going to take a more freelance approach than quitting forever like everywhere seems to be reporting, which makes sense since their production costs are insanely high and their over-reliance on Miyazaki is showing now that he's retired.

That's a bit better. Maybe the should look to Kickstarter to fund their projects? People would be throwing money at them like mad if they did.

Miyazaki himself has been saying that after every movie he makes for like, the last decade or so. But he can't keep away for more than, oh, a month or so.

Good new guys, it looks like Studio Ghibli isn't closing down but "taking a break" to reevaluate and restructure since Miyazaki retired.
