Many vegans, vegetarians ... and even people who eat meat but are concerned about animal welfare avoid products that have been tested on animals.

...and animals in factory farms aren't generally being "tested" on anyway. Factory farming is its own mess, and by not eating meat from factory farms, really reduces their purpose.
