I was just about to write this. Also, you can always edit based on feedback if you're that kind of author.

I have so many (30 or so) fics that are incomplete because I lost interest. I will come back to them eventually or they will languish, but no one will know that because I don't start posting until after the story is complete.

It's not just for the readers. I would be disappointed in myself if I didn't finish something I'd started for an audience. I don't want to set myself up for failure.
