Being upset over stupid things

(Anonymous) 2014-08-05 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I just got a new driver's license made and I look so awful in the picture. :( My face looks so fat compared to the last one, even though I weigh less now than I did when that one was taken. The only reason I can think of is that I'm supposed to get my period in a week and maybe I'm bloated or something (I know it's probably unlikely that that would make my face look fatter but I can't think of another explanation).

I know that it's not the end of the world and I rarely have to show ID anywhere (I don't drink or really do anything else that requires it), and I'm being stupid, but it still really bothers me.

Anyone else get upset about dumb things?

I am out of chips and forgot to get more when I was grocery shopping earlier. This lack of chips is unacceptable.

I agree, lack of chips is always unacceptable. If I could I would share my pringles with you. (If you like pringles, that is.)

God, I shouldn't have pringles in the house.

Yeah I get upset over simple things too, anon. Right now I'm really upset at my weight, and it's making me unable to face going outside at all. I'm not even that big so definitely a dumb thing for me to get upset over.

I'm upset because I always bail my family out of sticky cashflow situations, and when I need help (not even "extra" help, just being paid a fraction of what I've handed out and been promised a return on), they're nowhere to be found. So right now I'm kind of hoping that I didn't forget to subtract something and my rent check won't bounce. According to my balance, I should have $20 plus rent in my account, but we'll see how that goes. Thank goodness I get paid tomorrow.

Also, fandom-related, I'm really bummed that Peter Hale/Chris Argent is apparently ship-named as "Petopher." That's just about the worst.

All the time. You're human, man. It's okay to get upset sometimes.

If it helps, NOBODY looks good on their driver's license. I've had people assume I wasn't the person in the photo, that's how bad it was.

Haha, exactly. If I ever meet someone with a good driver's license picture I'm going to assume they're telepathic and fucking with my mind.

Most recently, I missed out an amazing deal. It was unadvertised and the store is only a few blocks away from me. I wasn't busy the entire week, except that day I happened to have unavoidable plans. I couldn't get out of them till after store hours. I went early the next day, but all the good deals were gone. Made me sad. :(

I am upset that I'm not 25 pounds lighter, which is silly considering the stupid amount of weight I've lost. Shit just takes time, but I'm not the most patient person and it isn't fun having to work so hard to lose one pound. :/

Oh, and I'm also upset that money doesn't grow on trees. I will forever be upset about this.

ayrt

The weight thing is bothering me too. I've only lost a little bit so far and still have 50 lbs. to lose to be a "healthy weight" but the past few days I haven't been able to stop eating (probably because of the previously mentioned "period starting soon" thing). It's so annoying. :(

:( Yea, restricting your calorie intake or just not eating all the things is the hardest part of losing weight for me. I love food, a lot of it unhealthy, and it can be difficult to cut things out of your diet or stop after only so much.

You'll probably be fine, though! I've managed much better than I expected, but it can still be hard at times. (There was surprise!pizza today, and by god I did not have the willpower to say no to that slice of surprise!pizza.)

As long as you don't do it all the time it's okay to indulge now and then. Periods are the worst, especially when you're dieting.

How fat you look in your license photo depends on how close you are to the camera. Some places make you stand against the screen, others don't.

Re: Being upset over stupid things

(Anonymous) 2014-08-06 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm, I hadn't thought of that. I had to stand against the screen both times but maybe the camera was at a different distance from the screen each time or something.

My grandma ate the WHOLE carton of chocolate ice cream and 3/4 of my coffee ice cream. My daring Grandpa got it for me since he knows I barely buy ice cream for myself. Worse off, she said she hadn't eaten it and accused my grandpa of eating it. When I know, he'd never do that and my mom doesn't like coffee or chocolate ice cream. I nearly started crying in frustration. (She always does this to me. Eats my stuff then pretends that she hasn't and passes the blame to someone else.)
