Canned laughter isn't quite the same thing as a studio laugh track, though. Canned laughter is, yeah, usually pretty awful, and mostly present in deeply unfunny shows, but studio laugh tracks are way less bad.

(Honestly not sure if you're referring to laugh tracks in general or canned laughter, apologies if I've misinterpreted)
