You have the best dad! I wish my parents were so enthusiastic about seeing films with me!

Haha, it runs in the family. I hope your dad was as excited about Bucky as you were! (Though, probably for different reasons.)

Me and my dad are veeeeery similar, so if no one else wants to go see a dumb movie we'll go together instead, and then laugh/gush about it after. And in some cases rip it to pieces.(My mum likes movies too but she's a little more picky when it comes to more sci-fi things).

It really does, I get it all from him. Oh man he was just as giddy about seeing WS Bucky as I was, it was great, and we we're both :O over the metal arm(just not quite in the same way).

Your mom sounds like my mom; she doesn't care about a lot of the stuff I'm interested in. (Even if some of it, like the Marvel films, she does deem alright once she's seen them.) At least you have your dad!

Hahaha, is he a comic fan too, then? Because I can only imagine the glee one would feel from being a fan of comic Bucky then seeing how well Winter Soldier translated to screen.

She's more of a fantasy fan really, like she's read all of the Pern books, loves LoTR like nobody's business and will talk your ear off about Star Trek(which isn't fantasy but it's the only sc-fi thing she likes) if given half the chance. She's just not into superheros the same way me and dad are even if she does enjoy the Marvel movies.

Ooooooh yes, he's the reason I got into them in the first place. Oh man my dad was so happy with how they did TWS in the movies and he's been in love with movie!Steve since the first film, I think he loved TWS more than I did, and I love it a lot.

(Though I'm sad that you don't have someone like that, it makes movie trips all the more fun).

Ooo, but fantasy is one of my favorite genres too, so at least she still has good taste! My parents prefer fantasy too, I think. They've always loved TLOTR movies and so far enjoy The Hobbit too. We all went (And cried) together as a family, heh.

That is adorable! These movies have made so many people happy.. I think that's what I love about them most. They're just fun, and though they do have darker moments they're always entertaining and never in a “This is unbearably depressing” way.

Well, my parents can be convinced to come with me sometimes, but they don't tend to get excited the way I do. My brother is a bit more interesting to go with because sometimes he actually wants to talk about the film afterward. LOL. I have people to talk in depth about them with, but sadly those people aren't close enough to go to the movies with.

I love fantasy as well so it's good to have them both for that, my dad is just the bigger sci-fi nerd and my mum's the fantasy one.

Yes! That what I love about them too, they somehow walk the fine line between not too serious/not too silly and manage it tbh. They're grounded in a bit more reality than the comics are but they're still aware that they're just fun movies. And then to get the uber-fun ones ala GoTG that just roll with the silly.

Awww, see now I wish I could hop over there and drag you to a movie, I would gush with you for hours over one and have all sorts of spiraling mad converstations. But hey at least your brother joins in a bit. :)
