I've always been one of those girls with more traditionally "masculine" interests and apparently a somewhat guyish personality (although I continually maintain that guy should be gender neutral term). The vast majority of my friends - especially online friends bonded with over mutual hobbies - have always been men. But the whole "I won't be friends with other girls" thing honestly baffles the hell out of me. I LOVE when I make friends with other women because I specifically don't want just male friends. I want friends of all sorts. Meeting other "guyish" gals is exciting because I don't feel so out of place surrounded by my male friends, but befriending more stereotypically "girly" women is awesome too because who the fuck only wants friends who are 100% just like them? And it's nice to have friends outside of the usual fandoms/groups, because that means when there's drama between guys (which is totally a thing and women who claim otherwise are deluding themselves) I still have friends who aren't part of it to spend time with until it blows over.+
