1) You're never too old for anything that interests, amuses, or an any other way entertains you. Even if it's flawed.

2) The whole shallow version of bravery thing: you know that characters actually discussed that issue, right? Although whether it was explored as a plot point in later books or just meant as a lantern, I don't know, because I got distracted and didn't read the next book.
