Okay, setting aside the whole Ron the Death Eater trope there (I'm as much a fan of Ron as I am of Draco personally speaking, but even I would take some considerable selling of Ron as being the type of person who would commit rape) that is a whole barrel of horrible. It makes no sense from start to finish. Not to mention just how insulting that is to rape survivors; to have one's agency stolen from them in seeking justice. Oh god. No. Just, no.

It wasn't even rape. He shoved her against a wall and fondled her. And for that he deserved to die.

Ron isn't my favorite either, but I'm against character bashing on principle.

And yes, it was really insulting to survivors.

It was just bad from start to finish. Everyone applauded when Harry killed Ron too.

Not to lose sight of the fact that it is still sexual assault, and the horror of that, but that makes Hermione's lack of action even worse. At least with rape the author could construct a scenario where Hermione was rendered incapable of response. Groping, horrible though it is, would not even achieve that. Also, killing? No, not even close to Harry or Hermione's style. Beating/hexing seven shades of shite out of the offender perhaps also having centaurs drag him off and rape him, but not killing and not a formal duel either. What happened did Harry suddenly get switched with a regency era gentleman? If anything, and sulking and trying to ignore the groping bastard would be equally as valid a character reaction from both Hermione and Harry, the most likely reaction would be "must tell Dumbledore/McGonnagal". It should go without saying they wouldn't be fine with killing either. When exactly did murder become the perfectly sane response to every insult and transgression anyway?
