I can only assume they not only had never met any ten year old children, but had also been grown in some sort of laboratory and decanted fully formed. Acting rashly without thinking things through is a solid 90% of all ten year old's thought processes. The remaining 10 being divided up between resisting baths and complaining about sprouts.
