It really is the worst for Metal Gear, isn't it? I'm not super interested in Metal Gear fic, but what little of it I do partake in is plagued with "John." Jesus christ. There's no way BB would let anyone call him John outside of special occasions. Like after a plane duel, for instance. Unless it's followed by BB slamming Ocelot into the ground, don't do it.

Wouldn't he? I mean, I don't like it either because nobody calls him John in canon, but I think if people actually tried to he wouldn't really do anything about it. I mean he said he didn't want to be called Boss but everyone did it anyway, then he said he didn't want to be called Snake but people still call him that.

I dunno, BB always seemed like a bit of a pushover to me. Probably not after Phantom Pain though.
