Same, OP.

But my problem is that somehow it just... really feels like a VN animated? And that bugs the crap out of me. It's rare that game-to-anime doesn't have that "This Was A Game" feel to it (I think maybe Sengoku Basara is one of the few that truly feels like its own story?) and it just really grated on me in the first few episodes of DMMD, so I haven't continued...
