Man, I'm not going to wait a week for a stream of something when I can grab a download of it less than an hour after it airs. Never mind the fact that my tumblr and whatnot is usually full of spoilers and screenshots while the episode is still airing.
I mean, I'm all for the legal streaming sites but as of right now they aren't a viable option for me personally because my internet is too goddamn slow to load more than a two minute youtube video, never mind a decent quality 23~min episode of something. (case in point, it takes the better part of two hours to download a 300mb episode)

Oh man, I can sympathize. I used to have super slow internet until about two years ago. It was just easier to torrent and leave the download going while I slept than bother with streaming.

You live in a rural area, right?

Fairly large city (Boston), actually, we just can't afford anything better than a DSL setup that was the height of speed...oh, ten years ago? Thank god I'm moving in with friends who can afford to dish out for high-speed cable. :P
Streaming is great, so long as you can afford the internet speeds to take advantage of it. And afford a subscription for streaming sites, etc, etc...
