[Game of Thrones]

Be hard to do that without confirming R+L=J one way or the other and I think that's intended as an endgame reveal. Breaking to film a new series wouldn't help with the child actor ageing problems either.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-14 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
It would give HBO more time to catch up with the books I suppose, although I believe D&D know the endgame anyway.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-15 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
And D&D seem intent on changing whatever they can anyway, so.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-14 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't be ridiculous.

They'd never find anyone pretty enough to play Rhaegar. 8D

I'd really like to see this prequel too, but maybe after the main series has run its course.

Or they could just cut out all the sub-plots that GRRM squeezed in after he figured out he could make at least 3 more book releases worth of $$$, and end the damn thing.

Oooooh shiiiiiiit.

I'm all for this. There was a good book hiding somewhere in AFFC and ADWD but it got killed by all the padding and unnecessary new POV characters.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-16 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
Riiiiiiiight?!?

(Anonymous) 2014-08-15 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Some people are more interested in seeing the journey the characters are taking than the end.

Sure, if those journeys weren't all stalled, the story would probably still be interesting.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-15 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
I'm all for a prequel series. Preferably made by people who aren't as dumb as the fuckheads running GOT.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-15 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
I could see this as an epic 3 hrs movie.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-15 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Then it would be every other fantasy novel ever written.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-15 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
I'd love it if, after the current series is done, they could do a miniseries of Robert's Rebellion, like Spartacus did. I think it's one of the more interesting and fleshed out backstories in any 'verse I've ever read, and I'd love to see it fleshed out on screen.

The one thing is the more I read (I'm in the 800s of Book 3), the more I suspect that the good guys didn't win on the Trident.

They might accidentally reveal Jon's mother :/

Off-topic: Jesus, but that guy's helmet is just begging for his enemies to grab the antlers and twist his head around until he's staring at his own ass.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-15 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
I like to pretend there's no antlers on the helmet itself, but he trained a stag to stand right behind him at all times. Decoration AND protection!

(Anonymous) 2014-08-15 11:37 am (UTC)(link)
This made me laugh far more than it should have.

Yeah, I couldn't get beyond the antlers, too. I kept starting to read the text, then being interrupted by mental images of just how bad an idea those antlers are.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-15 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be a cool show. Or a fun book to read.
