Sims 4 CAS demo

[personal profile] fingalsanteater 2014-08-14 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Anyone else playing around with this?

I alternate between making very attractive people and horrifically ugly people (those sliders go far, and, man, they can make some inhuman looking fuckers). I was going to make a this ugly monkey dude, but he ended up kinda cute. I love all the different body sliders though. You can pretty much make any body type, even ones that look super fucked up (like a super muscular dude with huge shoulders and an itty bitty waist and hips, then huge thighs and calves and a huge paunch belly). It's pretty fun just making and dressing different body types.

Didn't know this was a thing, but I think I'll be avoiding it. It sounds awesome, and I don't want to fall in love with it, buy the first release of the base game, and (maybe) be disappointed when it's not very good or two years later, there's a bundle I could have bought. Especially when there are still Sims 2 aspects I'm only now exploring.

I always wait for several months to buy the first game, just to give them time to work out the kinks.

Given how many flops, snafus, releases with incomplete content, bugs, and server glitches the AAA industry has produced in the last few years, pre-orders don't make sense to me.

haha i'm actually wavering whenever i use it. on the one hand, i end up wanting to play with the character i spent an hour+ making, otoh it really annoys me how few options there are in clothing and hair styles and such with vanilla sims.

there's a CAS demo? where is it?

also, any idea if there will be a Build Mode demo? I'm at least as interested in that if not more so

I just downloaded it and had a go. I'm... not totally taken with it yet, but I think it's a system that I could maybe grow into, eventually.

I did better manipulating the body-shape of the sim than her face.

I'm definitely playing around with it now, thanks for the heads up, it's vastly better than the Sims 2, which is the only other one I've tried (since I've no plans to buy).
