Failing OT3, I'll take an upfront open relationship and/or an honest break-up over the drawn out drama you see with a lot of fictional infidelity.

Me too. I'm not completely opposed to reading fic with cheating or an infidelity storyline, but as someone said above, that tends to turn someone into an asshole (either the cheater or - worse - the one being cheated on so as to justify the cheating) and I generally don't find that appealing unless we're dealing with people who are already canonically assholes. I'll take break-ups over that any day.
