Re: Unpopular opinions

Doomsday never made me sad but it was more because I was getting annoyed with the way Rose was being written by that point. 10/Rose was never my favorite combination (even though I strangely enough like them individually) and you could start to feel RTD thinking they were the best doctor/companion combo ever so he just HAD to write such a hokey and tragic ending.

Even if I found it slightly sad, the whole thing got screwed up by having her return 20 times. If you want to do a tragic ending, do a tragic ending, don't go back on it.

9/Rose was definitely the better combination, imo. Also the fact that she, not an especially smart person, was able to return while the Doctor, who is like a genius or some crap, wasn't able to do so sounds like a bunch of BS.

AYRT. Yes, 9/Rose was awesome and I felt they were better suited for each other.

Rose trying to get back always felt like a weird plot line to me, like as cool as it was to have everyone return for the series 4 finale I also kind of wish they didn't do it and just concentrated on Donna leaving. They could have put all that reunion stuff in Ten's actual final episodes instead of making it feel like RTD made separate series finales (but I also feel like RTD should have either had 10 leave during series four or done a proper series 5 with him with a proper companion instead of that "here are some specials" weirdness.)

I'm also not against a reunion but I couldn't help feeling that RTD wanted it to be like the ~grand finale of all time~ and he even made it sound like it was also about him leaving too, which made it seem more exaggerated than it already was and just...weirdly conveyed (and also comparing 10's extremely mournful regenration phase to 9's and 11's welcoming yet touching ones is always important - it only felt like it was RTD's and Tennant's goodbye not the Doctor's himself).

Oh, yes, Rusty and Ten, glad to see them gone gone gone

Ugh, yes! All this moping about how the Doctor was going to "die." Just leave already, Rusty, and stop whining about it! Alternatively, if you "don't want to go," don't!

At least Tennant and RTD making such a big deal about how Ten was "dying"--uh, no--made their work so insufferable that Matt Smith was a very welcome change.

It got to the point that I don't want to support anything Tennant or RTD do just because they drama-queened that whole show up so ridiculously.
