Well, that's the problem with memes. Since memetics is a biologist's reinvention of semiotics without much thought into what a sign actually does, a meme can be anything expressed, and therefore nothing worth talking about. It's an idea that's spawned a thousand pictures of cats, a gaggle of fanboys for Dawkins's dumbest idea, two failed journals, and a poor guy who keeps flogging an analogy of "mind viruses" as a theory of religion.
