The thing is, in the first season or two, there were hints that it could've been much more than that. It had potential to be something really fresh, original, creative. It is now a mainstream romcom, like you said, and there are people who mourn the loss of what could have been.

You mean, like with BBCSherlock, it didn't go the way they wanted it to go.
And/or, it's virtually impossible to keep anything fresh, original and creative. Things get old fast...
