(Anonymous) 2014-08-15 07:24 am (UTC)(link)A threesome is three people having a sexual encounter, which does not necessarily indicate any ongoing relationship or emotional bond between them.
I like threesomes in fic as a purely sexual thing, I do not like this idea that three people having an actual, mutual, polyamorous relationship is a solution to a love triangle. I find that very unconvincing, also pretty insulting, if someone is upset about their ship getting sunk.
Not everyone mult-ships, some of us really do care about our OTP, and "hey, the more, the merrier!" is not an answer. If I like A/B, and not A/C, it's because I strongly dislike C. Throwing them all together is simplistic and does not address the issues involved, at all. Why do you think I'd be happy with seeing a character that I disliked getting shoehorned into my OTP?
