Same here. It's elitist, really, and I'm aware of that, but I can't help thinking that GoT fans are ignorant about fantasy as a genre/have a poor taste in it.

That being said, I think it's important to remember that there are always people who enjoy things like GoT because they're an excellent source of mindless, relaxing entertainment.

GoT is not what I'd call relaxing, though. But then that's me; I refuse to watch it because it sounds like a huge drag yet the kind of people you're talking about love it.
