Oh god I got so sick of Coulson by the end of AoS, it probably doesn't help that I was mostly ambivalent towards the dude so I think for me it's just too much of him by this point.

But I like most of the rest of the cast so I know I'll be watching next season.

I've learned many things from AoS, one being that Coulson should never have been a lead character. I just didn't find him all that interesting. When he died in Avengers my reaction was more "well, who else could die in the very first team-up picture?!" than the big NOOOOOOOOO FU JOSS of fandom.

Same, I just... didn't care all that much. Like I felt bad for the Avengers who were affected by his death but other than that I was more of 'eh' about the whole thing.

Yeah I agree with this. I haven't ever said it before - I figured it was fandom heresy. But I think a large part of the problem with the show is Coulson. He just isn't an interesting or charismatic enough character to build a show around. He works fine as a supporting character, but he just (at least in my opinion) doesn't have enough personality for a lead.
