Well, everyone's eyes were mostly in the right place and mostly the same shape, so that's something. It was still disappointing though. And Luna is still so bizarre looking I can't get over it. But none of that is as disappointing as Rei. They're not making her fiery OR aloof. She's just so...average. Boring. Meh. That just shouldn't be Rei, ever. And they kept in the gross unconscious kiss. Why you gotta be that way, Crystal?

I do like that they seem to be set on not doing a cut scene for attacks, they just fling their powers and that's pretty damn cool. I even like the exploding tiara.

Disappointed Jadiete isn't dead. Kunzite can get it, though.

Other than that, this episode was just so meh. It wasn't as amusingly horrible as the last one. It was just so okay it's average, I guess.

Jadiete won't die. I can't remember the source, but apparently they said they were going to do what Naoko wanted and make the four generals the four guardian's boyfriends/love interests.

What do you mean 'what Naoko wanted'? I mean, she killed him in the manga. In the 3rd chapter. That is, ostensibly, what she wanted to do. I know there was dating-in-the-past vibes in some of the manga art, but Naoko killed the shitennou off, and I don't see that changing in Crystal. They gonna die, sooner or later, just like they always do. I just wish Rei had gotten to take him out by herself, cause that was bad-ass in the manga (and I hope Makoto gets to punch Zoicite in the face, too, for similar reasons)

I think that Takeuchi wrote in one of the manga artbooks that shitennou/senshi relationships was an idea that she wanted to explore.

This^ The rumor is they're running with it. Considering that's the only major thing they've changed so far, Jadeite not dying/Adding in that scene with the four generals showing up and going "mwahahah we will win!" there's a possibility it's true.

As long as they don't steal the senshi's thunder I wouldn't mind that at all. Kunzite/Zoicite will always be my Sailor Moon OTP, but maybe SMC will go past Dark Kingdom part of the manga, and I will get my dream of all the Shitennou living ~~just to bug the shit out of Mamoru~~ to take their proper place as Endymion's protectors, and advisers. Then well get to see them in the future helping to protect Crystal Tokyo.

I hope they do. It always bugged me that Usagi got to have a husband and a family, but her friends were stuck being her bodyguards until they died. I didn't care much for Chibi-Usa's court. I think it would have been awesome if her court were the daughters of the sailor scouts or something.

Yeah, I thought that was in relation to the SilMil, though? Maybe I'm thinking of something different.

Until an official source confirms the senshi/shitennou romance angle, I'm going to assume it's a rumour. The same for Casablanca Memory's inclusion.

I agree about Rei. I enjoyed her a lot in the original anime (and also the manga), but here she's just so...bland. Plus, Rina Satou sounds so generic compared to Michie Tomizawa. I wouldn't be surprised if other people like this less bitchy take on Rei though.

Rina Satou is a really good VA, so I'm not trying to put her down or anything.

Yeah, she's a good VA but she's not being given much to work with. I have never been bored by a version of Rei before. It's a feeling I don't like.

Rei's normally my favorite, so definitely disappointing. But this is pretty much a personal gripe.

I always found manga Rei to be incredibly boring so I'm not surprised she's pretty dull in Crystal. And god, Luna is just so weird looking.

To be fair, she wasn't drunk in Crystal. She just passed out from exhaustion because she was up all night reading manga. That's not...better, really, but.

That's not what I meant. It was in the manga iirc so I'd don't see why they'd cut it. No disagreements on it being skeevy, I'm just wondering why people thought it would be cut.

She is SUPER weird looking. Have these animators never seen an actual cat?

I kinda want a horror film or something with Crystal! Luna as the villain. Or maybe some sort of psychedelic experimental film.

Like I said above, it was skeevy, but I don't know why people were expecting Crystal to cut out the kiss because of it.

Crystal!Luna and PGSM!Luna could team up and terrorize everyone.

Oh, I see what you mean now. I didn't really expect them to cut it out. It just would have been nice, and they've actually done Usagi and Mamoru's relationship a lot better (for me) this time around, so that would have been an additional plus.

I'd watch the hell out of that, not gonna lie.

Haha, I guess I could have worded that better. Oh, I thought you did expect them to cut it out, my bad. It would have been better if they did. Maybe they'll flesh out their relationship more this time around.
