Yup. A lot of my favorite authors from the 70s-80s are not aging as gracefully as I'd like, if you know what I mean.

I'm an old-time anime fan, too. I wore one of my Gatchaman t-shirts out today, but FMA remains my favorite of all.

Yeeeeah, trust me, I do! One of my all-time authors is still going strong, but her most recent book -- I absolutely hated it. Quite possibly the worst book I've ever, ever read. And I felt so bad about it, because I'm a huge fan and she is 90 years old, come on, I should cut her some slack based on that alone, but... I really just hated it.

Yay, Gatchaman! And hey, there's only 27 volues of FMA. I mean, that's still quite a lot, but I thought there were more (like 50 or so). Anyway, I'll try to finally start reading it -- at least before the end of the year, haha ^_^;

I do understand!

Gatch was what got me into anime in general. I mean, I remember seeing Speed Racer, and Kimba the White Lion, and Gigantor on TV during the 60s, but I didn't like any of it because of the animation style. I thought it improved a lot with Gatchaman...er, Battle of the Planets.

Then the 80s happened, and wheeee, anime mecca! I still have a lot of Dirty Pair and Nausicaa ephemera, as those were my 80s favorites.
