(You were a hardcore 1xR shipper who couldn't stand Relena? I'm curious to know how that works. XD )

I was a slash fangirl then and I hated Relena. I'm more open-minded now, and I don't hate Relena. I like 1xR and 2xH, but I also like several slash pairings with Heero and Duo.

But I can't stand 1x2 and have never shipped it. Partially because everyone was into it, partially because no one did it right, and partially because there was virtually nothing in canon that ever made me think, "They would be good together." (Not that anyone who wrote it had actually watched Gundam Wing.)

I don't know why i felt that this comment needed to be made in response to your comment. D:

I like plenty pairings where I can't stand a character involved , but love the dynamic between the two involved. It's why I get frustrated with people when they can't get past a hate for a character.

But yeah, I just bought the whole GW series on DVD a few months back and for the life of me can't see what the hell I hated so much about Relena seeing as though I didn't 'ship any Heero-inclusive slash nor did I have a Sue for him. Hell, I didn't really like him that much either.

As for Gundam Wing slash in general, for some reason despite my equal love for crack and canon(ish) het AND slash... I still can't sit well with GW slash.

Well, I can see pairings where I don't like one of the characters involved, but because I dislike that character I wouldn't say that I "ship" these pairings. I mean, I enjoyed the Byakuya/Yoruichi dynamic in Bleach, but I never shipped it, because I hated Byakuya, so I didn't consider myself a "shipper."

(Then I wrote a fic for them as part of a challenge and... well, now I don't hate him so much anymore.)

Heero isn't all that interesting, unless-- I'll confess that most of my slash in that series is directly related to the fact that I can see Quatre paired with literally just about everyone. But I definitely sympathize. Some series, the slash just doesn't jump out at me, and even if I "see" a slash pairing, I shy away from the entire slash fandom for it. Ehe.

Really, BDZ and GW are the only ones where I really DO avoid the slash bias (except with Quatre... I must have been in denial or something with that boy).

I don't know, maybe I'm odd in the fact that I like pairings with a character I don't like XD.

OMG, I am not the only one who sees like QuatrexEveryone? I swear that boy for some reason just had vibes with everyone he meet. It was sort of freaky.

Heero is actually pretty dull if you take him by himself. He only works when he is working off someone else. I find him hilarious though for all the wrong reasons. His lack of different facial expressions is one of them.

Yes!! Quatre/everyone. Especially Heero and Duo and Trowa and Wufei to complete the set even though I prefer him in straight pairings.

That's exactly what I was thinking, that Heero is most interesting in his interactions with Quatre, Relena, or Sylvia. Otherwise he is kind of -- a blank slate. Which is perfect for his character, but less interesting for me. XD
