Dude, Hilde is amazing. Although, I have heard people bashing her for "looking weird" or "looking like she came from another anime" or because of how she was going to shoot Duo... ugh >_< But I love her, she's kickass ~~and totally shippable with Relena or(/AND?) Trowa~~.

Hilde was great.

Wait, seriously? XD Correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a while, but didn't Heero almost shoot him too? Come on people!

Yeaaaah. Wing fandom likes any excuse to bash female characters, I think XD;

Dear Lord, I mean if we're gonna start hating characters for almost killing the pilots . . . then why the hell are the pilots so widely loved? XD

As for me, the only one of the main females I don't like is Relena, but that's just 'cause she's annoying as all get out and no one in canon seems to care. If she'd been an OC in a fic, she'd be dismissed (okay, probably mocked first) as a MarySue and we'd all move on with our lives. I like fic!Relena more, most of the time. :\

Well. To be fair, I think every pilot has gotten his share of bashing, although never nearly as much as the girls XD

Mm. I personally love Relena, because she starts out annoying, but by the time we reach the end of the series/Endless Waltz, she has matured amazingly. And even at the beginning she has good qualities. The other girls at her school look up to her, largely because she's Mr. Darlian's Daughter and all, but we also do see at the beginning how when Heero comes rampaging along in his Gundam to their school, she calms them down and comforts them and gets them to leave in an orderly manner.

... and then proceeds to just stand there in front of a gigantic robot of death because of course he won't kill her! she couldn't possibly die! but that's one of those classic moments of Gundam Character Stupidity, to which I think they're all prone at times XD;

I... also don't see how Relena is a Mary Sue. She's kind-of a supporting character, ultimately she doesn't get the guy (Heero), she doesn't have Secret Kickass Combat Skills (unless you choose to interpret her shooting Une's rose off as her deliberately shooting at the rose, rather than just shooting wildly at Une and missing -- I personally go for the latter), or Magical Powers Which Break The Laws Of The Universe or anything. Neither is she ever implied to be stunningly beautiful or special in appearance or anything. ::shrug::

But hey. If you don't like her, that's your business XD Just so long as a person isn't going around spouting NOBODY IS ALLOWED TO DISAGREE WITH ME, OR LIKE THIS CHARACTER I DISLIKE, I'm good with different opinions or... whatever.

Not to mention that Duo actually shot Heero. Twice. And then Heero stole parts from his Gundam. XD

That Heero didn't shoot Duo is practically the only piece of subtext (well, that and the official art of course, heh) us poor 1x2 'shippers have got, you know. Shippers nowadays has got it easy!

Oh yeah, and then you have Quatre who blew Trowa right outta the sky. Granted he was kinda insane at the time, but no one holds it against him. XD

Well, there's also the fact that Heero used Duo's name when he applied to that school! And they were living together during Endless Waltz! But, oh, the official art. X3

Back in my day we had to watch FIF-TEEN hours of anime just to find any subtext! *waves cane*

Still, Quatre and Trowa had that gaytastic (well, it was back then, anyway XD) duet. Heero and Duo were (as) sane (as they ever got) when they were shooting, hitting and stealing parts from each other!

Well, there's also the fact that Heero used Duo's name when he applied to that school! And they were living together during Endless Waltz!

Oh yeah! I'd forgotten that! And there's the "my destiny is to be killed by you" line (that they butchered in the translation)!

*crotchety voice* And we weren't given any hand-outs either, we had PROPER subtext, not this modern stuff that's practically interpreted for you, and we were HAPPY to get it!

I'm pretty sure that when she and Duo went to the circus and rediscovered Trowa, Hilde made a comment about how he's cute/hot. Ever since then, I've harboured it as one of my little crackships ;D
