Re: What is the sign of someone being rich to you?

I dunno, both of those things depend on what you're talking about - I know someone whose grandparents technically own a vacation home, but I mean, it's not really fancy or anything, it's just a house they own and rent out when they're not there. They're not rich. I also know someone with an in-ground pool who isn't rich.

Here in Minnesota, lots of families have lake houses. I guess these are technically vacation homes, because they usually only use them in the weekends in summer, and they are pretty expensive. But a lot of people just really value that, especially if other family or friends have a place on the same lake. I don't really think it makes them "rich". My friend's family had one, and they had a pretty tiny home in town, and her parents didn't have glamorous jobs or anything. My family was better off than hers, but we "couldn't afford" a lake house, mainly because we didn't care enough to shell out the money when it could be used on other things.

I'm not sure any one thing really makes you "rich", there are a lot of circumstances beyond any one factor.
