What?

Too many good people die every day who didn't get to have awesome successful lives first. This is really bothering me – what the hell does it matter how successful someone was? How about the fact that an actual person with actual feelings was in a lot of pain and is now dead? How about the fact that a kind, caring, charitable person who tried his best to make other people happy is gone?

Seriously.

When Steve Jobs died, a friend on Facebook mentioned how no one cares when a random person dies in a third world country. Really? We're doing that? Death is sad. And yes, famous people were loved too. Robin Williams was "Dad" to someone. He was someone's husband. Who cares how famous he was or wasn't? People need to stop doing that.

You say this every Robin Williams post. Please stop.

I kind of get what they're saying, though. When my mom died, it was like nobody noticed. It was like the whole world didn't care. It still makes me really resentful whenever I think about how we couldn't afford to commemorate her life the way even middle class people can. So I can understand their feeling.

I'm sorry your mom died and I'm sorry you couldn't commemorate her life the way you wanted to. It's sad when someone dies, not just because that person is gone, but because the people that cared about them are hurt - which doesn't have anything to do with how "successful" that person was. I don't think the fact that Robin Williams' family has money makes it hurt any less for them.
