Yeah, I thought the story made that pretty clear with the parallels it drew between them. They both started out terrified, helpless, and dependent on other people to protect them, and then they both lost their protector/father figure. The difference is that Clem was able to pull it together and keep going and Sarah wasn't.

I thought they did a pretty bad job of it, honestly. If you convince Sarah to leave with Clem, Sarah starts making an honest effort to buck up and survive but she dies later anyway. And it's not even her fault, it was an accident.

Considering the way Sarah was portrayed in the game (Sarah is definitely disabled) it's not exactly fair to compare her to Clem, because Clem is very much not disabled.
