I really doubt they're going to apply this twist to the show. Unless the comic also has a scene where they deliberately show the MRI brain death of someone turning into a zombie with only the brain stem continuing to function.

I was gonna say this; we saw evidence that their brains are almost entirely dead, why would parts restart months, years later? Do they gain super experience points or something for every new walker they turn, every person they eat? Is that how it's done? No thanks to this
