I hired a cleaner for one of the apartments I manage, because the tenants absconded and left it in a mess. I've hired this person before and generally find her personality really abrasive, but she's a contractor, not a friend, so whatever. Anyway, there she is, gossiping up a storm, talking smack about her clients and her competitors, bragging on herself, ordering me around, calling me "sweetie," and pestering me to hire her ex-husband to paint the apartment. I can't wait till she's gone.

Contractors are supposed to be professional. You should find a new cleaner. That way you won't have to put up with that nonsense.

I suppose I believe in "better the devil you know than the one you don't." After all, the person I hire instead could be worse.
