philstar22: (Dany dragon)

I'm pretty sure you're going to be disappointed, OP. I'm not really invested one way or another in Jon and Dany hooking up. But I'm 99% sure Martin isn't going to make her a villain. And frankly, after all the build up of her journey, that would be kind of a let down.

It would be kind of neat if she went into full on Valyrian conqueror mode, but I think that would defeat the purpose of her learning all the lessons she did along the way.

That said I'm behind King Stannis, so lol.

Say his full name! Stannis the Mannis our Lobster King!

I'd rather see the Others and the dragons team up to wipe out Westeros.

Why on earth would they get along? Though if they had undead dragons, that's be good. One's that breathed ice.

Others with undead dragons would be the best thing ever.

I don't think she's going to go Breaking Bad, exactly, but I think she's going to go up against the Others and we'll find out the Others are not actually the bad guys that we've been led to believe.

I don't really understand the Jon/Dany thing. I'm guessing there's something in the books I'm missing?

(Anonymous) 2014-08-23 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Have the dragon's three heads ever been mentioned on the show? I guess a lot of fans of that pairing take some of their argumentative basis from the visions/House of the Undying & stuff (which was basically all cut from the show).
ziltoidianrapture: (queen of love and compassion<3)

Hasn't been mentioned in the show, at least not as far as I can remember.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-24 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
No, there really isn't. A lot of fans think that Jon is actually Rhaegar's son, so he'd be a Targaryen, too, so I figure people want him and Dany to team up as the big dragon-riding Targaryen team that saves Westeros and then marries and happily rules Westeros forever or something like that. But beyond "Jon might well be Rhaegar's son", literally nothing in the books hints at them even meeting, let alone getting together. Nor is there anything to make you assume that they'd even like each other if they ever met.

That and they're two of the most popular characters in the fandom, so it's not really unsurprising that people ship them.

I think there's a decent argument for the Targeryen Jon theory, and after that -- Targaryens are known for marrying their relatives, and marriage would be a good way of consolidating two claims to the throne. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they ended up married. (Love is a different kettle of fish.)

there have been hints that have made both out to be "the prince that was promised"

Some believe this means that in fact, none of the prophecies are wrong. BOTH ARE the prince that was promised probably with a third, because three dragons need three riders.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-24 09:32 am (UTC)(link)
The title.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-24 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
Literally the only thing that could make Daenerys interesting again was if she turned into the Big Bad. Part of me wants to be hopeful because she has been turning increasingly insane, but I kinda doubt that GRRM really wants to turn everyone's fave into that much of a cliché subversion.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-24 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
I'm actually 100% sure Daenerys is not going to take up dealing methamphetamines.

(Anonymous) 2014-08-24 08:48 am (UTC)(link)
Now that would be a show I would watch.
