Wait, so... you're seriously saying that looking down on male abuse victims is okay? Because when you look down on them for being abused, you're really the one who's suffering from sexism? Please tell me I'm misreading you.

yeah no, that's not what they were saying at all.

they were basically saying that the view that abuse against men is "amusing" is wrong. and further, that that viewpoint is a result of wider societal sexism (that views women as weak, posing no threats against men). so when people see men being abused, the victim is viewed with contempt, because they should "man up", "stop being a pussy" etc. and this is NOT a good thing.

does that help clarify?
