Basically you take Alton Brown's marshmallow recipe -- which I can practically make in my sleep at this point -- and add rum extract, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves. I just sampled one, and damned if they don't taste just like eggnog. Which means I hate them, but the friend they're a birthday gift for will love them.

Ooo, thank you for linking me! These sound simple and unique; I'm intrigued! Haha, too bad you don't like them yourself, but I'm sure your friend is going to love them and this is a yummy and cute birthday gift!

I made gingerbread marshmallows a couple of Christmases ago. They were pretty great.

My favorite variation (which I made for her birthday last year) is making the regular vanilla marshmallows, but replacing all the water with an equal amount of cold coffee.

You are devious. Urg, so hungry now. Pretty sure I could eat those by themselves! That's a very simple but brilliant change. Good on you for thinking of it!

Worrying about life, mostly. I wish I was doing something more exciting and pleasant, lol. I should catch up on Free! but probably won't. In a weird mood today.

(God, I hate cleaning though. Well, usually, unless I'm so stressed that cleaning mellows me out. I was going to at least vacuum today but nope.)

Still sick. Thankfully not strep throat but just a really swollen lymph node. If I am not feeling better by Monday, it is doctor time.

While I laze around, I am trying to figure out something to GIF. :

Playing Half-Life 2, though in a minute I'm gonna go buy a new outdoor lightbulb for my front porch. :)

Lol - I spent most of today cleaning.

Just being excited in general. I got the call from my workplace this morning and went in to do paperwork. Now I have a job.

Haaa I have to clean tomorrow. Mostly sitting at home wallowing in back-to-school blues. Gotta go back on Monday.

I finished sorting all the miscellaneous art supplies. We are also sorting our old kid clothes (for future wear by my niece), in order to better organize the garage. Some of it I remember, either on myself or my sisters, but some of it I have no memory of at all! Like the amazingly '80s floral acid-wash jeans (size 5). And you can sometimes tell by the amount of wear on a garment if it how many sisters in went through; I'm the youngest of 3.

And this cool board game my mom preordered a few months ago arrived! So tonight we'll play that and watch Doctor Who.

Haha, I'm paying somebody else to clean today--it's for one of the apartments I manage, because the tenants absconded and left it in a mess. I've hired this person before and generally find her personality really overbearing, but hey, she's a contractor, not a friend, so whatever. Anyway, there she is, gossiping up a storm, talking smack about her clients and her competitors, bragging on herself, ordering me around, calling me "sweetie," and pestering me to hire her ex-husband to paint the apartment. She took me to Lowe's to get paint, which I'm hugely grateful for, but then she kept breathing down my neck to hurry up and pick the colors she recommended. I was looking for a nice off-white but no, that won't do--"Oh, nobody paints their walls off-white anymore!" She tried to push me toward this dingy grayish brown. Um...no thanks? Then I made the mistake of taking her out to eat, so I had to listen to her laying down the law about everything for another hour. I can't wait till the apartment is done and she's out of my hair.

I tried to stalk hot air balloonists. I know they're camping across the lake (they posted their schedule on FB), so I waited by the highway to either see balloons floating across the lake or to see trucks with balloon trailers come over the bridge. I saw neither.

I SAW A MUSICAL!!! For the first time! With my best friend! And it was great!!! :]

And cleaning. before I went to see the musical.
