The term shipper comes from the X-files. Some people liked Mulder and Scully as friends, some people wanted romance and for them to be in a relationship. Those people started calling themelves relationshipers, and thus the term shipper was born. So it makes no sense saying they are your broship. Shipping is only for romantic pairings.

I suppose that makes sense, but people are still going to use it to mean friendships. It's a fandom term and fandom is redefining it, so...too bad for you, I guess.
