I got that feeling too, which is why I asked this question. People are still not quite outright stating it even when directly asked, which is interesting, too. If you look at the affirmative responses, there have been two "well, my family is rich"es, and one "I'm well off, but not rich-rich" so far. Nobody who's outright stated "I'm rich."

As an anon said above, there's nothing wrong with being rich, but nobody seems to want to directly claim the adjective, even if they might well be considered so.

Maybe you should have stated in your question what defines being 'rich', you would have gotten a more clear answer.
